Senator John Burton’s sponsored legislation
for the Transbay terminal set an ambitious goal of
35% affordable housing within the Transbay District
project area. Libby Seifel will participate on a panel
that will discuss the particulars of the plan and how
this goal might be achieved. Seifel Consulting was
the real estate economist and redevelopment consultant
for the Transbay Plan. It will be from 11.30 – 1.30 pm

Key approval for Transbay project set
for today – June 15, 2004
San Francisco transit planners are attempting to
move forward with a major project to expand the Transbay
Terminal, but a 432-unit condominium tower project
is competing for the envisioned site. Seifel Consulting

The David Brower Center, in honor of environmentalist
David Brower, is gaining official approval in Berkeley,
CA. The mixed use development features an environmental
center and over 90 units of housing, Seifel Consulting
advised the City of Berkeley on the developer selection
process and is performing developer due diligence for

421 Turk Street Apartments Housing Opportunities – May,
2004
In May 2004, ASIAN, Inc. accepted tenant pre-applications
for one to three bedroom units in an 8-story building
expected to be ready for occupancy by November 2004.
The units will be rented to low-income families. Seifel
Consulting prepared market studies and successful low-income
housing tax credit applications for this non-profit

Grim forecast sees housing in
tatters after major SF quake – May 2,
2004
Seifel Consulting was the economic consultant on
a technical analysis of San Francisco’s Earthquake
Risk, presented in 2003 to the San Francisco Building
Inspection Commission’s appointed earthquake
advisory panel. The US Geological Survey’s regional
coordinator on earthquake hazards for northern California
extolled the report as “the most comprehensive
look at a realistic loss estimation for any urban area

New homes – both affordable and market rate-
are blazing hot in Alameda – April 30, 2004
Our redevelopment work for to the City of Alameda
Redevelopment Agency is beginning to bear fruit. Work
on the first of 500 new homes to be built on the decommissioned
Alameda Naval Base has begun, with some homes sold
even through models will not be open until summer 2004.

Navy signs binding pact on first parts of shipyard – April

The Navy and San Francisco reached an agreement for
the first section of the Hunters Point Shipyard to
be turned over to the City within weeks. Seifel Consulting
